Shipwreck in Cabo

In September 2014, Cabo San Lucas suffered a strong hurricane as it had not happened for decades.  the force of nature moved a massive amount of sand exposing all the pieces of the Ludenberg, a gigantic ship that, by tales of former fishermen, sank on February 8, 1954. The Ludenberg was an American-owned German ship that carried plaster from the famous plaster mine on the Island of San  Marcos (Mulege BCS) on the Sea of Cortez to the west coast of the United States.

During the last sixty years the currents and waves were covering the shipwreck with sand until it was completely covered, the phenomenon of Odile on September 14, 2014 changed all the area of the cape, taking about 20ft of sand of the Arch area.  Since then the diving community of Cabo San Lucas has been able to enjoy a new point in the bay where it become a great habitat for our marine life.
