Snorkeling Seasons in Cabo

Cabo is a great place to snorkel, no matter the time of the year, if is winter, spring, summer or autumn, there’s something different to see each season of the year.
That’s because the Sea of Cortez is considered the Acuarium of the world, for it’s big variety of Marine life and different variety of temperatures during the year, that’s why whales, pelagics, fishes, birds travel to this corner of México, to the sourthen tip of Baja California Sur which is a great migration point of Marine life due to it’s geographical position, becoming the entrance to the Sea of Cortez from the Pacific Ocean. 
 
 Between the end of January to the end of June, winter, spring and early summer is the “cold water season” we considered from 70-75°F (22-25°C) to about 60-63°F (16-18°C) (May and June) it variety depends on the year, there are years warmer than others. That is a great season for big leopard Groupers, Schools of Red Snappers, schools of grunts, Yellowtail Jack, Schools of Mexican Goatfish, Spanish Mackerel, Pacific Crevalle Jack, Cortez Stingrays, Guitar fish, mobula rays and more…Aswell, of course, our year around colorful tropical fish like the different kinds of puffer fish (balloon fish, guineaful puffers, porcupine puffer fish, sharpnose puffer…) parrot fish, angel fish, cortez angel fish, triggerfish, surgeon fish, moorish idols, damsel fish, giant damsel fish, juvenile razorfish, rainbow wrasse, sargent mayor and much more… 
 
Then from July to the end of January, summer, autumn and early winter, it’s warm water, truly tropical warm, the warm water season we considered from 70-75°F (22-24°C) to about 80-85°F (27-29°C) (mid July to mid December) some of the warmest years it have reach 88°F (32 °C). That’s a great season to see tons of juvenile and adults year around tropical fish, as mention above, schools of sardines, juvenile rooster fish, juvenile big eye jacks, majestic pelagics as green turtles, gulf turtles, eagle rays, schools of cownose rays, schools of mobula rays
 
Each time of the year got something especial, worth it every minute, for sure, just having the chance to spend time out there at the sea in the nature, is always a great feeling.
